DC trip

We had a great time in DC last Friday. It was not terribly cold and it was very sunny! We headed up the road around 8:30am and got on the metro. We had about a 30 minute ride on the metro to get to the Smithsonian stop. The first museum we went to was Natural History Museum. That was the dinosaur one. We were there for about an hour and then everyone was getting hungry so we left and took the metro to Union Station and ate at the Uno's. After lunch we headed to the White House. From there we walked back over to the Smithsonian museums. On our way we got to see some other points of interest, like the Washington Monument or "The Pencil" as I remember it being called. Our last stop was the Air and Space Museum! The kids really enjoyed that one.

By 5:30pm we were all wore out so we head back to the metro headed home!

19 days of FUN!!

Danielle made it here yesterday from Missouri. She will be here for 19 days and we have so much planned. Today we are running errands and taking Abby to gymnastic. Tomorrow we are going to DC for the day. Some good friends of our are going too! It is going to be a good time for sure.

Matt is off work until next Tuesday so it is SUPER nice having him here to do stuff with us! I have not planned out next weeks fun stuff but I know we will be going to Georgetown to get cupcakes at some point and having a much needed girls night out before she leaves!

I will post this weekend about our trip to DC with LOTS of pictures, I'm sure! :)

Early Christmas

This past Saturday we hosted an early Christmas with Matt's family. Matt and I decided this year we wanted to make all the food. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cheesy rice casserole. We laughed that they were all our guinea pigs! I have never made a turkey or stuffing that was not from a box. I was a little nervous but everything turned out great. Thanks to my mom for all the helpful tips!

After we ate the kids were dying to open presents. Here are some of the pictures of them opening their gifts!

We will have Christmas with my family next weekend on Christmas Eve! So keep an eye out for the blog post next week! :)
