Mommy Confession ~ I said I would NEVER do that!

If you are a parent you probably said at one time or another "I will never do _____ when I am a parent" but that all goes out the window once your little one is here. For me it was things like TV and video game but the biggest one would be dinner.

YES, I make 2 different meals most nights because my kids will not eat what I make half the time. I swore I would NEVER EVER do this. For example, the other night I was making Taco soup for Matt and I, cooking chicken nuggets and fries in the oven for the kids and warming up Lucas' food in the microwave. While obviously Lucas couldn't eat soup with us, Logan and Abby could but it was easier to make them something else then listen to them complain about what they didn't like in the soup. Abby hates mashed potatoes (crazy girl I know) and Logan hates rice. They only like corn and some times green beans. See what I am dealing with?!

I have tried to put my foot down and say this is dinner eat it or go to bed hungry but the mommy in me just can't send them to bed on an empty stomach. They are both little skinny minnies as it is! I have tried the whole "There are kids in the world that don't have food" tactic...maybe not the best one but I want them to understand they are lucky to have something to eat because some kids are not as fortunate.

I hope that one day they will decided to start trying more new things but until then I will make 2 meals and know I am not starving my kids!

Tell me I am not alone in this blog mommy's?!

You're not the only one! I do it, too, 2 different meals every night (unless we have pizza or something). I hate it. But I don't know how to stop! The boys won't eat what Charlie and I eat. Plus, we eat really spicy, non-kid-friendly food most of the time. Sigh.

And I know they eat pretty well at day care because they give us a report every day and they mark "ate well" or "picky eater today" etc. But they always eat there!

Blah.

I make 2 meals 90% of the time. Only 1 of my 3 boys will eat almost everything. The middle one is insanely picky and the youngest rarely eats dinner. Sometimes I even wonder why I make him anything at all!

Don't worry I do this constantly. My 4.5 year old is very picky. He's slowly coming around and eating more or at least trying it. But 90% of the timei t's two separate meals.

you're far from alone! currently I have a roast in the crock pot for the husband and I and I will also be making mac n cheese ala kraft for the mini. She's so picky! I totally relate to this!

My little guy might be a little too young to eat our "adult" meals, but I do try to have him take bites here and there. For the longest time he was so picky, and only ate three or four things. He's getting better, but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up making two meals every night.

Haha my list of "I would never" gets shorter daily! I've always said the same thing about food but haven't been able to stick to it yet since Ben is so young (when he's older, he could actually go to sleep all night being hungry, or get his own food, but if he refuses the dinner I made now and goes to bed, I'M THE ONE who will be suffering later when he wakes up all night screaming hahahaha!)
