Sunday Social ~ Middle/High school memories!

Linking up with Ashley for Sunday Social...

Sunday Social

What was your biggest middle school fashion mistake?
That would be my big, hoop earrings and Reebok classics. I was a jeans and t-shirt kinda girl and still am, so I can't say that was a mistake, haha!

Who were your best friends in high school?
I had a few really good friends, Rhema, Lisa, Wendy and Shannon but I lost touch with my best friend from middle school when I went to high school and I never made another best friend like her. We have reconnected now that we are married with kids, which is great!

What was a typical weekend like for you in high school?
Hanging out with my amazing boyfriend (see question below). We would do dinner and a movie or just hang out at my parents house. Big party animals I tell ya!

Did you have boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that...
Sure did and he is now my HUSBAND!!! We met in 10th grade English and have been going strong for 14 years now!
Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets...
No secret codes, but we did have a notebook that we passed back and forth that we wrote to each other in. Now that I think about it, it was stupid because all our secrets were in one place for anyone to see if they got a hold of it. Silly teenagers!!

If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?
Hands down that would be graduation from high school. I was not a fan of school and that was the best day. Being done with that place was AWESOME! haha ;)

Happy Sunday everyone!

Friday Letters ~ v5...Happy Anniversary!

Photobucket

I only have one letter today...

Dear my wonderful, amazing, and loving husband of 10 yrs,

Today marks 10 years that we have been married. I cannot imagine my life without you. You are without a doubt the rock in our marriage and family. Thank you for everything you do to give the kids and I everything we have. You are truly one of a kinda and even though we joke about it, I do honestly believe they broke the mold when they made you. I love you so very much and can't wait to celebrate many more years with you!

Currently ~ v7

Currently I am...

Loving the fall weather! I am so thankful it is not 100 degree outside anymore. I love the colors of the trees when I am driving down the road to my house. One nice thing about living in the country!

Looking at the Sock Monkey line at Crazy 8...can you say C-U-T-E! I must get Lucas the hat for this winter. I might just go by there today and get it.

Cooking lots of muffins. I can't get enough pumpkin and bananas muffins. The first batch of pumpkin muffin we all ate but I swear I ate the whole second batch by myself...NOT GOOD! haha

Catching up on TV shows. We are so behind on all our shows that I try to watch a few during the day. There are a few that I can't watch with out Matt (SOA, Criminal Minds, Mike and Molly) so we will have to catch up on those this weekend.

Missing my hubby! This storm was not as bad as some but he has still been working a lot this week and when he gets home it is time for bed so we don't get to talk much.

Dear Sleep,
I hope you miss me as much as I miss you.

Dear Chocolate,
Why oh why do you have to be some good. I am never going to lose this last 15lb if I can't put you down.

Dear Breast Pump,
I hate and love you at the same time. I hate that I feel like I am attached to you 95% of the day but I love that you help me give my sweet boy the best nutrition possible.

Dear My AMAZING hubby,
There are not enough words to thank you for being so helpful. The kids and I are so lucky to have you and we love you so much!

Dear Blog,
I am sorry that I have been neglecting you and promise to be better.

Lucas(and life) 1 month update!

The last 4 weeks have been hectic, emotional, exhausting and wonderful! Logan and Abby started school on the 21st and they both LOVE it. Abby comes home so excited to tell me about her day. Logan is just happy to be back in school so he can run laps on the black top. Those were his words exactly. Let me just say, he didn't get his love for running from me that's for sure. They come home and can't wait to see Lucas. We have hand sanitizer on the table in the living room and they both come right in and use it so they can touch him. I love how much they love their little brother.

Lucas is getting big too fast. I met with the lactation consultant last Thursday and was able to weigh him and he is up to 8lb 15oz! Mommy's milk is getting the job done! I have decided he has one cry for everything. He doesn't cry often but when he does, watch out!

Ever hear the saying, light as a feather stiff as a board?! Well that is Lucas when he gets mad. He loves to be held and I don't have a problem with that! Logan liked to be held also, but Abby didn't so I am enjoying getting to snuggle with him all the time.

Matt and I are both exhausted. By 8pm we both are struggling to stay awake. Lucas eats every 3 hours but goes for 4-5 hours after his midnight/1am feeding. Matt is awesome and gets up too in the middle of the night even though he has to work. I must say I have a pretty amazing, supportive, and loving husband. I am definitely one lucky lady!

We are starting to settle into a routine around here. I have tackled solo outings with Lucas and they were a success! Logan and Abby have adjusted wonderfully to have a little brother (which if you know me, was a worry of mine). LIFE IS GOOD!

Here are few pictures of what's been going on around here!

First day of school!

Yep, this is what we do all day!

LOVE my boys!

Dear weekend,
can you please try not to fly by so fast. This mama would really sincerely appreciate it!

Dear wonderful hubby,
thank you for all you do and putting up with my crazy, hormonal, pregnant and sometimes just plan bit**y self! Love you to the moon and back!

Dear Logan,
thank you for being so help around the house lately. Mama love you so much, even when you sneak money out of your piggy bank to buy something at Target.

Dear Abigail,
even though you seem to only have one volume these day, your out of nowhere comments and questions make me smile.

Dear Lucas,
I love feeling you move around but I can't wait to hold you in my arms. Your brother and sister are also getting so excited to finally meet you. Life as we know if will change forever in 6 weeks and I can't wait!

Dear house,
can you please find a way to clean your self because this mama is just to tired and pregnant to do it anymore. Thanks in advance!

Dear readers,
yes you...thanks for reading and following my blog (what you are not following?!?! Just click the blue "Join this site" button on the left). Blogging has become something I love to do but only because of readers and followers like you!

Dear AC,
thank you for being so wonderful. Life would be miserable without you, pregnant or not!

Dear my awesome car,
I love you and all that you offer but it is looking more and more like a van or SUV is in our immediate future. Please don't be mad!

Dear Etsy,
why do you have to have so much adorable stuff. I am a bit addicted and not ashamed to admit it! Can't wait for all the things I have ordered to come. Here is just one of them...

Currently ~ v2

A peek at Lucas' nursery!
Currently I am . . .

Missing my pre pregnancy body...I worked so hard to lose weight after I had Abby and I am ready to get back to it after Lucas is here. It is no secret that I am not a fan of exercising but I did Weight Watchers and got awesome results so if I get my butt in the gym this time while doing it I know the results will be even better!

Dreaming of holding my sweet boy in my arms finally. With only 6 weeks (or 43 days) to go until my c section, I have washed all his clothes and will be working on getting his diapers washed next. Still trying to figure out what detergents to use (Do you CD?! What detergent do you like?!). This weekend I plan on getting his bag packed for the hospital!

Loving summer break with Logan and Abby. Don't get me wrong there are days where I might pull my hair out, but I am still enjoying all the fun we are having...swimming, bowling, $1 movies! School starts in around 40 days and then it will be back to homework and early bedtimes. Blah!

Laughing at my crazy husband! The man can put a smile on my face no matter what my mood is. That is one of the many reasons I love him so much! I love getting crazy random text from him during the day. There are times that I laugh so hard I think my stomach will burst.

Wishing the weekends didn't go by so fast. I feel like as soon as they start they are over. We are still busy with Logan's baseball games and of course trying to finish things around the house so there is not much time for relaxing on the weekends. Matt will be off for 11 days when Lucas is born and even though it will not be a relaxing 11 days but it will be nice to have him home and not worry about if he will be called into work at any given moment!

Weekend Recap

After some crazy storm rolled in Friday night, our weekend plans came to a screeching halt. This "Derecho" storm, cause MAJOR power outages through out our area. We lost power at around 9:45pm and didn't get it back until 2am but we were the lucky ones. Matt works for the local electric coop and was called into work at 6am Saturday morning. The outages topped out at around 60,000 people. As of noon this morning there was still over 12,000 without power.

I woke up when Matt left for work Saturday morning and so did Abby so we laid back down after he left. Abby was asleep again in about 20 minutes and Brodie was snoozing right next to her!

When we got up later I decided we were just going to have a lazy Saturday and hang around the house because it was way to hot to be outside. So the kids ran around playing, and watching TV off and on.

On Sunday Matt went to work and the kids and I went to my sisters for a cookout for my nephews 16th birthday. After that, we did a little grocery shopping and picked up a Little Caesars $5 pizza for dinner and just waiting for Matt to get home from work. When he finally got home it was bedtime!

So that was our weekend. How was yours?!

PS Check out the pictures of the damage in our area here.

A lazy day of pure happiness!

Linking up with Mrs Stephanie T for the first time!

Mrs Stephanie T

Lazy Sunday's are my favorite! My hubby works a LOT so when he gets time to just relax with us, it is the best! TV/movies, snacking and just a lot of laying around. It is always a perfect start or end, depending on how you look at it, to a week!

Putting a Lego jet together!
All done!

Weekend Rewind ~ Memorial Day

We had a wonderful busy 3 day weekend. Saturday we got lots of much need yard work done then Logan had baseball practice. He tried out being the catcher and was pretty good at it. He is excited to do it again during a game. His games start this weekend! Sunday we took the kids fishing. It was Abby's first time and I was not sure how she would do but she LOVED it. I, of course, didn't fish but had a great time watching them and all their excitement. The fish were biting like crazy but only Logan was able to catch one before it swam off with the bait (laughing at us I am sure). The kids didn't care one bit, they had a blast and that is all that mattered! Below are some photos of our fishing trip. Monday we had planned to go to Lake Anna State Park to the little beach they have there but it was VERY crowded so we took the kids bowling instead. It was cooler and the kids still had fun. We ended our weekend with a delicious cookout at home and some super sweet and juicy watermelon.

I love long weekends full of fun!!!

Wordless{ish} Wednesday ~ curtains and Matt's birthday!

Lucas' room with his name above the crib and the new curtains I had made. I love the way the orange pops with the blue walls! I also ordered an orange changing pad cover that should be here next week.

Today is my amazing husbands 29th birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MATT! I LOVE YOU!
He is at work of course but thanks to a thunderstorm (have I ever mentioned I HATE thunderstorms?!) I was wide awake this morning to tell him happy birthday. I am making his favorite meal (chicken enchiladas). When we were grocery shopping last Thursday I asked him to pick out what kind of cake he wanted so the kids and I can make it this afternoon when Logan gets home. Well, he picked a yummy brownie/cookie bar thing! We are doing dinner out with friends on Friday to celebrate but tonight will just be the 4 of us! :)

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Who's ready to get Primal?!?!

Saturday was the Primal Mud Run. It was 47 degrees and Matt was dressed in shorts and a sleeveless shirt and ready to run! We got there about an hour early and got to look around at some of the course obstacles. Instead of bib numbers, like at other races, they put their numbers either on their cheek or forehead. They were scheduled to start their run at 1pm but the start line was LONG so they didn't start until 1:40pm.
They started the run with a wall climb. Matt made it over on the first try! Then it was onto the tires. They had to flip them up the hill 4 times then back down 4 times before moving onto the net wall. Up and over he went making it look so easy! ;) From that point we couldn't see the next obstacle where they had to carry a 40lb sand bag on their shoulder and walk through a creek that was a little more then knee deep. Then we saw them run by, heading for the pond where they had to swim under barrels in the freezing cold water. That was about 50 yards across. Matt said that it was SO cold that afterward, he had a hard time breathing. After that, we didn't get to see them do anymore obstacles, like the giant slip'n'slide or the monkey bars, until the end when they came to the mud pit.
It wouldn't be a "mud" run if Matt didn't get covered in mud. Some people were just walking through the pit and others were walking along the edge trying not to get really muddy. Well not Matt.  The wall that everyone else stepped over, Matt flipped over it and landed flat on his back in the mud!  From there, he crawled underneath the barbwire and through the mud on his hands and knees. Loving every minute of it!

The kids had a great time as well. They enjoyed watching their daddy's do the obstacles and also running around playing together while we were waiting.

Daddy Daughter Date Night

Matt and Abby had their date night! She was so excited and couldn't wait for Matt to get home! I gave her a shower and did her hair "flat" for her! That is what she calls it when I use the flat iron on her hair. We all headed to the mall and Matt dropped me and Logan off at Cheeburger Cheeburger for our date night! Then they headed into the mall to Chick Fil A.

Once they got there, they were greeted by a hostess and ...the Cow!  Abby DOES NOT like the Cow!  The hostess was very nice though, and politely told the cow to beat it! :)  They confirmed their "reservations" and then were seated by a waiter.  Pretty classy for Chick Fil A.  All of the tables were decorated with flashy confetti, candles, and red carnations.  After they were seated, the waiter took their drink orders.  When he returned with the drinks, he brought Abby a pink rose.  Abby was ecstatic that it was "Pink," her favorite color!  They ordered the usual nuggets and a fruit cup.  They were able to hold brief conversation, when Abby took breaks from looking for the Cow.

When dinner was over, they were surprised to find a limousine waiting for them outside.  They, along with three other daddy daughter couples,  took a ride in the limo.  Abby really liked the limo ride and got a kick out of riding sideways and not having to buckle.  Matt explained that a limousine was for special events like proms, parties, and weddings.  He asked her if she liked the limo and she said she hopes to ride in another one.  He proceeded to tell her that she could have one for her wedding because mommy and daddy would pay for her wedding.  She gave him the biggest smile, and a bear hug!

As for my "date night" with Logan, it was fantastic. Logan is a people watcher so holding conversation with him was hard but it was still fun. We talked about school and he told me that him and his friends had girls chasing them at recess today. As I sat and had dinner with him I just looked at him. I can't believe how mature he is getting. We both enjoyed chocolate milk shakes along with our yummy burgers!

All in all it was a great evening.  I think we will try to do a "date night or girl's night/boy's night out" with them once a month.
